How Online Insight Breathwork Sessions Work

No matter where you are in the world, you can breathe with us.

How Online Sessions Work

An online Insight breathwork session is live, guided and lasts about 90 min to 2 hours. You will need a strong internet connection for our session. You will receive a zoom link for the session and will have the ability to turn your camera on or off for privacy.

If you can’t make the live session, a recording will be made available to you for 3 days post session. We begin each session with a short talk that will last about 20 min. In this talk we review the following:

  • What to expect- Physically , Mentally, Emotionally and Insightfully

  • Space setup

  • Breathing technique

  • Setting Intention

The breathwork session will then begin with a music set list that lasts about 50-60 minutes. After our breathwork, you are welcome and encouraged to stay on for 20-30 min as we talk about integration and leave space for those who want to share their experience in the chat. You are not obligated to participate.

Setting up your Space

Setting Up Your Breathwork Journey Space:  You will be lying down or if you need to, reclined in a chair. We recommend the following when setting up your space:

  • It is best to breathe on an empty stomach. Please refrain from eating 1.5-2 hours before the start of the session

  • A quiet space where you won't be interrupted

  • A mat on the floor or a bed

  • Blanket- you will most likely experience large temperature changes during your session.

  • small pillow to support the head or knees if needed.

  • An eye mask to create full darkness.

  • Water

  • Chapstick

  • A journal and pen

  • Tissues

  • Headphones are recommended for a full immersion experience

Music:  Music will be played throughout your journey experience. The set list is generally about 50-60 min unless indicated otherwise. The set list is specifically designed for the journey and consists of evocative music (music that evokes emotion). The music and set list is an integral part of the experience.

Contraindications:  If you have been diagnosed with any of the following, we don't recommend breathing with us until cleared by your doctor and by us. Breathwork can result in intense physical and emotional release. Therefore, it is not advised for persons with:

A history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, use of a pace-maker, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, significant recent physical injuries or surgery.

Breathwork is not advised for persons with mental illness or seizure disorders or for persons using major medications. It is also unsuitable for anyone with a personal or family history of aneurysms. Pregnant women are advised against practicing Breathwork without first consulting and getting approval from their primary care physician. Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their primary care physician and the Breathwork class facilitator. This work is deeply experiential. It may involve intense and energetic emotional release.
